THE VISIT

Reactive Resource attended a home in the Montmorillon area following a report of noise from the off-peak day/night contactor. The visit combined targeted fault finding with RCD tests, inspection of the bedroom light termination, tightening of four identified connectors and measurements on the TT earthing system. Customer identity and the precise address are not published.

RCD protection tests
The distribution board RCDs were tested, with satisfactory results at the time of the visit.

Connections and light termination
The bedroom light termination was checked, followed by inspection and tightening of four identified connectors.

TT earthing measurement
External/internal loop-impedance investigation recorded a value of 194 Ω on this TT installation.
FOLLOW-UP PLANNED
Further work to improve the earthing performance.
The RCD tests were satisfactory during the visit. The TT loop-impedance investigation recorded 194 Ω. A return visit is recommended and planned to investigate the earthing arrangement further and carry out appropriate work to improve the earth-loop/earthing performance, followed by repeat measurements.
